A few months ago, I watched
the Concordia University Wisconsin chapel service from 27 October, where the hymn was "In Adam We Have All Been One." The last verse ends with the lines "Where with the Father evermore / And Spirit Thou art one," sung to these musical phrases from the tune "The Saints' Delight":
"Evermore" is sung with a melisma (G G F# E), and this drawing out of the word lends a slight sense of duration.
