When I recorded
"Jesaia, dem Propheten" for Sunday, I noticed a small connection between it and its text "Isaiah, Mighty Seer, in Days of Old." In the line "High on a lofty throne, in splendor bright," sung to this musical phrase:
the words "lofty throne" are sung to the highest pitches (D notes), giving a sense of that height.
